The Mobile Expert Team Prolonged Disorder of Consciousness (PDOC)

Prolonged disorders of consciousness (PDOC) and other hyporesponsive syndromes are extremely rare in the Netherlands. EENnacoma therefore supports healthcare providers with a nationally operating team of specialized experts: the Mobile Expert Team Prolonged disorders of consciousness (MET-PDOC). The MET-PDOC provides low-threshold consultations on location and is also available for telephone advice.

The MET-PDOC:

  • indicates for Early Intensive Neurorehabilitation (VIN) and other forms of specialist PDOC care;
  • provides diagnostic and therapeutic support;
  • considers moral dilemmas;
  • is available for second opinions in hyporesponsive syndromes.

Consult requests

The MET-PDOC is an intercollegiate service and only comes into action at the invitation of the attending physician. For the time being, no costs will be charged for the referrer. The team is coordinated from the Radboudumc and staffed by experts from various healthcare institutions affiliated with EENnacoma.
