For whom?

The Frasselt department (Ring and Wing units) offers space to 2 x 10 clients with intensive care needs. This includes the following target groups:

  • clients with respiratory support,
  • clients with a tracheostomy tube,
  • clients with a long-term disorder of consciousness
  • palliative care.

Treatment and care

A Long-Term Care Act (WLZ) indication ZZP 8 is required. People with a long-term disorder of consciousness are given regular nursing home care in line with the ZZP8 indication.

Kalorama offers a targeted treatment offer for people with a long-term consciousness disorder. We work according to the national care program 'Long-term intensive neurorehabilitation for patients with a long-term disorder of consciousness'. The goal of the rehabilitation program is to increase the level of consciousness, improve overall functioning and achieve the best possible well-being. We help the patient to recover as well as possible, to an outcome that would be acceptable to him or her.

We do this with a multidisciplinary team in which the geriatric specialist is in charge and ultimately responsible for the care treatment plan. The team also consists of a nurse, caregiver, psychologist, supervisor of relatives, physiotherapist and occupational therapist, speech therapist, exercise therapist, dietician, social worker, activity supervisor and care mediation.
